You really need at least 3 sides for this to be sturdy enough. I added some zip ties for extra security-placement is key as to not lose the ability to open up the sides. Honestly this was the best purchase I made for my kid! She loves being able to sleep with mom on occasion and I love that I can trust the product to keep her safe while I snooze with her. six months ago I purchased this for my child as a first birthday gift and Havel had no issues.Other tips for assembly:Check under your bed base for areas to secure this with or without the screwsUse zip ties for extra securityIf securing to bedposts use velcro strip under zip ties to prevent damageI bought my zip ties and Velcro roll from home depotChanging the sheets with this on your bed:The L shaped piece which secures to your bed frame or box spring can release the top rails. I remove one side at a time to dress the bed to make the task easier.Works well, we have a 1 year old co-sleeper with us and it stops her from launching herself off the bed thankfully. We followed the advice and did the 2 king size ones and a third smaller for the width of the king bed but I will say I wish I did all 3 just king size and I wish the king size ones were about 2 inches longer. IOts a tight fit to get the corners to stay on and we needed to use bungie cords as well but in the end it works well.This rails I purchased from MHOMER, is a great investment and it gives me piece of mind when I put my 14 mos old toddler to sleep. So my husband and I order this system and we love it! He drilled it into the box spring, connected it (we did get a 4th piece for the end) and she has heaved her whole 24lbs against it and NOTHING! She has tried to pull herself up and she can’t. We know she is safe with this system!I only purchased 2 sides as my daughtees bed is in the room corner. I'm sure the sturdiness will improve if all 4 sides were connected. The 2 sides that meet and form a corner make it tough to release the latch in order to lower the side wall. Other Than that the other side is easy to release. I like this option as a large crib bed for my littlest one.These are build better than I’d hoped. Great quality and easy to assemble. They are the perfect solution to keep my 16 month old daughter from falling out of our bed at night as she sleeps with us & keeps her from climbing into our bed & possibly falling off during the day!
