The headboard needed to be repaired since the nails didn't stay in place since the holes were too big. We used wood putty and hopefully it will stay in place. Also the frame should have been wider to fit a twin mattress so check measurements. The ONE issue I have with this item is that the width is very strange. It's about 35 inches, narrower than the normal 38-39in of a twin mattress, and considerably wider than the ~30 inches of a cot-sized mattress. Since I have my bed in a corner and usually put several stuffed animals along the wall, I simply put the overhang over there. The mattress could also be centered without much issue as long as one sits carefully. There are no corner holders on this frame, so the mattress fits fine. It is a little odd, though. All the good: This bed arrived and was assembled today. I did it by myself, with no problems. It was a super-easy to assemble. Everything was clearly-labeled, and the hardware came in a pre-sorted blister pack and even included an extra of each piece! The included allen wrench was the only tool necessary to complete the assembly. The instructions were clear (although at a few points I wasn't detail-oriented and used the wrong bolt or put a piece on upside-down. That's on me, though, not the product!)It's now assembled and ready to sleep on. I sat on it and very gently bounced, and there was no movement or creaking. I did not move overly enthusiastically. While I weigh less than a third of the supposed 750-lb weight suggestion, I am overweight and I don't want to take chances.I have a 12-inch mattress, and that is definitely NOT what this frame was meant for. Nearly half of it towers over the footboard . I don't mind, but you want that classic footboard look, I imagine a 6-inch mattress would be best. The headboard is fine, but there's only a few inches between the top of the mattress and the wooden decoration portion. The storage capability is pretty good. The bed has no leg at the exact center of the bed (it does have one on the sides, for a total of six legs), so the entire underbed is available to put things in.Dedicate about an hour for assembly... instructions were clear.I was a bit nervous about purchasing this bed, as I am a larger woman. The bed arrived on schedule, but the box was severely damaged. All the pieces looked fine, so I didn’t think too much of it. It took me about an hour to put everything together myself, I had to start over because I rushed and didn’t pay attention to the instructions. If you’re putting this thing together by yourself, take it slow around steps 3-5. After I got everything put together and moved the bed into position, I heard the leg snap. It wasn’t a clean snap, but it was definitely broken enough to cause problems in the future. I couldn’t get the leg replaced, so Amazon had to send out an entirely new bed and I had to drag the old one back to UPS to have it sent off. The delivery for the replacement was delayed because of the winter storms, so instead of taking the broken bed apart immediately, I still used it. I’m 5’6, about 350 and the even with the broken leg I was able to sleep on this bed comfortably! This review is to attest to the sturdiness of this bed frame, and I give it a 5 out of 5!I’d give the bed 5 stars if the headboard didn’t come bent. Extremely difficult to put together unless you have two people. Instructions aren’t bad, the bed is just awkward to assemble. Still trying to figure out how to get ahold of customer service to send a replacement headboard. Everything else about the bed once it’s assembled is great. Very sturdy and squeak resistant.Update:Contacted customer service. I was told the factory couldn’t send me a replacement headboard but I would have to instead return the whole frame. Considering it took 2 hours to assemble and the only problem was the headboard, I wasn’t about to do that. Re-boxing and taking something that heavy to the UPS store is a whole other issue. Not to mention I need it to stay assembled as it’s for my grandma with balance issues. My other option was to take a soft hammer (which I don’t own and would have to buy) and hit the frame back into shape. I’m sorry but this medal isn’t going to bend with a soft hammer. I’m also not going to spend more money to fix a broken item. The resolution was a $10 refund...? Thanks? The bed is still functional and it is just a cosmetic issue for the most part. I’ll survive but would have really appreciated to receive what I paid for. Customer service was quick and responsive but at the end of the day I received a broken item. This is why I’m so nervous to order off Amazon.Instructions could be clear. These do not hold as much weight as they said.My boys are 10 and 11 and both beds have the bars bent.Looks and price!
